the introduction posts can be a blessing or a curse :) usually there are a lot of people that want to welcome new people. the most important thing at the beginning is to find active communities that you are interested in. for me it was a photo contest community that is not even active anymore and most of the people are working on other projects on hive, but i always check on what is up with them.
second thing is engagement. hive does not have algorithms as web 2 to push or censor your content, so engagement with other people is important.
