An Onboarding Experience Vs Time

I have shared a lot on my onboarding experience and how it took my sister two years to finally drag me here. At the time she was creating my Hive account, she told me that she was creating the account with a fee of $1.
She didn't end there; she warned me to make sure that her hard-earned $1 doesn't go to waste.

Well, according to my sister, she expected me to multiply the $1 with my Hive engagement and also make adequate use of the 13 HP that she had delegated to me.

You know, I used to think that HP was everything, but from the @hivestudentconnect onboarding program, I learned that one can still blog without having any HP; just have some tangible amount of resource credit handy or delegated, and you are good to go.

You see, from the little experiences that I have gathered from Hive, I can say that Hive has gotten really user-friendly, which is such a delight. Not like it was anything short of, but then, my sister had always shared how challenging Hive was during her time as she onboarded herself through discovering Hive on Google search.

According to my sister, she had searched for ways to earn online, and Hive appeared. Thus, after reading all there is to know about Hive, she created an account and onboarded herself. I remember how she would always talk about her struggles and how, at one point, she had no resource credit left, as it took time to boost, given how low her HP was. She told me how she got some resource credit or was it hp delegated to her by @kittygirl, having sourced for help on one of the Discord servers.

My sister would always tell me how lucky I am to have her, and frankly speaking, she was right because I doubt that I would have gone as far as she did if I had onboarded myself. Come to think of it, how would I have even gotten the $1 to onboard myself? I mean, it was easy for my sister because she is tech savvier and even got a dollar card and other means of dollar transaction like a crypto wallet.

You know I can't imagine how challenging it was then to be a Hivean. Thankfully, today I can say that it got better which is quite exciting for me, especially with frontends introducing the free and easy registration processes.

Again, it is worth noting that there are several Discord servers springing up every day for onboarding support projects. There are also servers where newbies and oldies alike can engage and earn themselves some upvotes and encouragement to keep building on Hive. I think the upvote support is another thing on Hive that excites me.

You see, looking back from the time that I joined Hive till now, I have seen the creation of some onboarding support communities/accounts and this include: the @hivestudents and the @sam.hangout; even the @hive-reachout that is part of the OCDB onboarding project is not left out. The Hive Ghana community is still doing well with the upvote support, and frankly speaking, more supports are needed as initiatives like the aforementioned are great motivation
for engagements and content creation.
