Modesty over even the most insignificant things; the virtue of modesty in our daily life

Modesty is a virtue that everyone should inculcate in their daily life. It is the quality of being humble, decent, and disciplined. Sometimes, people think modesty applies only to dressing decently and beautiful, but permit me to say that modesty applies to all areas of our life. It can also be exercised in how we eat, drink, and control our cravings. To know when to say no to a food being offered and also to be able to manage our satiety.

Modesty teaches balance towards eating what the body needs rather than simply satisfying the tongues desires. The things we consume can either make us or mar us health-wise. Some people lack control over their cravings, thereby overeating or when the craving can not be met can lead to more vices. while others overeat just because the food is delicious and is too difficult to ignore.Modesty also means knowing when to stop eating, even when the food is delicious.

The practice of modesty begins in the kitchen, which should be the safest place in every home because it contains what we use to prepare our meals and food is always prepared there. Modesty demands cleanliness here, since what we eat has a direct effect on our health, hence the utensils used in the preparation should be kept clean. Even when eating out, modesty is necessary. Sometimes, we must learn to politely decline food offers at visits, parties, or gatherings not out of hatred or grudges, but as an act of self-discipline. Modesty can also be exercised when dishing out a food at parties or in our homes, knowing the appropriate portion that will serve you at that moment is what should be scooped into the plate, instead of taking it greedily and at the end not being able to finish it, which will lead to further wastage of the food

When we apply modesty over everything that enters our mouth, we will notice a positive changes in our lives especially in our health. Food is the best medicine, and proves the saying We Are What We Eat. Eating appropriately, mindfully, and with discipline allows the body to function better, prevents illness, promotes overall good health, and even supports long life.

Living modestly especially in what we eat takes us a step closer to healthy living and a better quality of life. Modesty remains an ageless virtue, and when fully embraced, it shapes our lives into something more beautiful in mind, body, and character.

I totally agree with you here, modesty starts from the kitchen not only how we do dress and all. In all we do we should be modest.
The overeating because one cannot curb cravings is like a big red flag in a way.

Exactly
Though sometimes it is difficult to apply modesty when it comes to food, but constant practice makes perfect
