Yesterday was a remarkable day as we witnessed and celebrated the exceptional abilities of young individuals in the field of computer science. It was a science quiz event organized by the Computer Science Society (CSS) with the aim of empowering students in the domains of science and technology. The event took place on the campus of KNUST and provided students with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills, with a particular focus on evaluating their expertise in diverse areas such as Data Structures, Programming Languages, Numerical Analysis, and Web3 Technology.
The quiz featured four teams, and their rankings were as follows: Prolific secured first place, Velocity took second place, Agile came in third, and BruteForce finished fourth. Each team consisted of four contestants. The Computer Science Society collaborated with Hive to organize this event with the goal of promoting science and technology. Two of the teams proudly represented Hive, sporting branded Hive T-shirts. The first and last teams were representatives of Hive, while the other two teams represented two startup brands, namely Parlour and Eistand.
The event was a resounding success, providing both contestants and attendees with an educational, informative, and enjoyable experience. Commencing at 2pm, the event spanned approximately five hours, revolving around thought-provoking questions, answers, and problem-solving activities at its core. In an era defined by rapid technological advancements, it becomes imperative to cultivate a passion for computer science and emerging technologies among students. It is as a result of this that the Computer Science Society (CSS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) organized the Computer Science Quiz.
Through collaboration and support, Hive presented award certificates and cash prizes to all 16 contestants. The winners, first runner-up, and second and third runners-up received their respective prizes, which included cash prizes, Hive souvenirs, citations, and award certificates. Following an intense competition, Prolific emerged as the winners with a score of 99, Velocity secured the first runner-up position with a score of 96, Agile achieved the second runner-up position with a score of 75, and BruteForce finished as the third runner-up with a score of 58. All contestants representing Hive teams proudly wore Hive-branded T-shirts, and the majority of the attendees who came to support the teams also sported Hive-branded attire.
The event created a wonderful atmosphere for intellectual discussions as students enthusiastically shared their knowledge and expertise on various subjects that were posed as questions. In addition to the educational aspect, it was also a time filled with excitement and enjoyment, with students cheering on their teams as they answered questions correctly.
Hive has been gaining significant traction within the institution ever since our maiden seminar , which attracted a large number of students. The seminar provided invaluable exposure and featured numerous educational presentations that left a lasting impact on the attendees. As a result, many students have come to appreciate the concept of Web 3 technology through their engagement with Hive.The school has recognized and acknowledged Hive's contributions, prompting them to once again collaborate with Hive for this impactful quiz event. The university, particularly the computer science department and the computer science society, expressed their appreciation by presenting Hive with a citation to honor its great impact in the university. After the presentation of the citation, the Hive Ghana team were given the opportunity to give a short address.
This quiz event has played a vital role in further promoting Hive within KNUST, providing it with increased exposure. It has set a positive precedent for future collaborations between Hive and the computer science department, which eagerly looks forward to engaging in more activities alongside Hive. In all we are very glad to see another impact made with Hive and we are excited about the future opportunities that these actitivies will bring to Hive. We see this as a step towards more Hive engagements within tertiary institutions across Ghana, a chance to keep espounding the Web 3 blockchain and the massive promotion of it to exposing it's possibilities.

I was very happy to witness such an educative program..the contestant gave us a great contest, they were separated by the last round of the contest and that showed how prepared the teams were..we hope to continue supporting these talents to secure a bright future in the field of technology
