The Tortoise and the Lizard

in HiveGhana2 days ago (edited)

Many of us have been told countless tales about the tortoise about his either cunny, mischievous or greedy behavior.
Back then in my childhood days we would gather under the moonlight outside our house waiting for any free elderly person who tell us folktales.
Folktales are stories that create delusional images that are formed in my head that makes them fun for me.
And also folktales are non-fictional stories but they have a way they seemed to link to reality,There are many folktales i listened to but Out of the lot,the story of the tortoise and Lizard is the one i love mostly, it's still fresh in my memory.

A long time ago There was a famine in the land of the animals, birds were weak to fly, roosters throat were dry to crow, animals were dying.
One day,The king, the lion called for meeting and they deliberated on how to manage the recent famine in their land. All animal all brought ideas but one was sensible.so,they plan was to go man's village and steal food at night and store them in their foodstore.

To ensure the effectiveness of the plan. fast and sneaky animals like monkey, cheetah etc were sent to execute their plans.

It was already one month and plan was working, They're were no longer lacking food not until one day,the started noticing a daily drastic shortage in the foodstuff,At first, they thought maybe they were eating much. but as they took records of the foods that they eat, they discovered there was an invader in the foodstuff store.
So,they decided to set up a trap for the thief,so they sent their security chief guard, the agama lizard to guard the foodstore at night.

When night came,The lizard was already dozing off when he heard sounds in the food store,he quickly went in to check, behold there was the tortoise eating the food in the store in a hurry. The Tortoise looked at the shocked lizard and said to him "come!, Come join and if they ask if you've seen the invaders?, simply tell them no.

The lizard joined the tortoise unknown to him that the Tortoise had slipped stone into his food when he looked away. He had eat halfway when he started coughing, the neighbors heard the loud noise and bold ones came out,All question asked to the lizard were answered with a nod even up today the agama lizard is still nodding.
Morals lessons from the story is that never to trust anyone and never be a partaker of evil, matter who attractive it.Folklores are might be fictions but they are ways of telling some certain real facts about life.
I hope you enjoyed the story😉

But this lizard is not smart at all. Why would you look elsewhere when you know the food you are eating was stolen?😂😂

Anyway, great lesson. It’s important to either stop evil or avoid it. Partaking it is never a great
