When people hear the word modest, they quickly attach it to clothing. Some people believe modesty is a thing of the heart- humility, self respect and how we carry ourselves.well whichever angle it's been looked at, modest is an important value that is slowly fading away in this world.
Modesty isn't an in built quality, it's something we cultivate.
For me modestly is keeping within bounds a modest person is aware of their boundaries. Not necessarily because they can't do whatever is in their minds but they just acknowledge that there is a limit to whatever they want to do or are able to do.
Back in the days, people adore themselves in
well covered dressings that represents dignity and respect. They took pride in wearing clothes that fully covered them, they expressed not only fashion sense but discipline and moral consciousness.
Nobody on earth was born with modesty. It is a quality we cultivate we put much effort to keep our conscience alive so that it can prick us each that we are about to go out of what's moral.
Today, however we are living in a Morden wold where the idea guiding the fashion world is "wear whatever you're comfortable in" .... Like I can literally feel comfortable walking around on my birthday suit
In the surface that statement is like a freedoms to express ourselves with anything we feel comfortable on. But in a practical sense it's an excuse for exposure our body all in the name of fashion. You will see one lady wearing micro skirts, leggings on crop tops,or even biker shorts( something we wear as underwear) all in the name of comfort. Funny enough if you don't dress that way you are old fashioned.
Well I am not against dressing smart and stylish but that line between confidence and immodesty is becoming blurry day by day. You can still be trendy without revealing everything.
Modestly isn't just about hiding skin, it's also about how we present ourselves. A modest appearance doesn’t take away beauty; instead, it enhances it. It tells the world that you value yourself enough to dress with dignity while still being fashionable.
While the world idea is to dress in what we feel comfortable on, but true modesty is choosing comfort without loosing respect for ourselves and those around us. It's about know our limits and boundaries and staying there.

Modesty is a wonderful quality we need to cultivate, our hearts and mind are involved in cultivating such quality.
Like you said knowing our boundaries and setting limits to certain things we do personifies modesty.
