He Said He’ll Join… After the Guitar

in HiveGhana4 days ago

After I joined hive newly, I was so excited that I couldn’t keep it to myself. I felt this joy and curiosity bubbling inside me, so I decided to invite a few of my friends to join too. I took my time to call and chat with some of them, explaining the little I knew back then. I tried my best to share my excitement and the opportunities I saw in being part of this amazing platform. However, to my surprise, almost all of them responded with the same question,“How fast can I cash out?” It was quite discouraging to realize that most of them were only interested in platforms that could make them quick money. No one seemed genuinely interested in learning, growing, or creating value first.

The only person who gave me a listening ear was one of my childhood friends who said he was more into music than writing. That gave me a bit of hope. I immediately told him about 3Speak, I wanted him to see that there was a space for his passion too. To encourage him, I took extra steps by screenshoting some posts, shared a few inspiring videos, and even sent him links that could help him understand how it all worked. He seemed interested and assured me that he would go through all the links and videos.

I kept persuading him from time to time because I believed it could really benefit him. But as the days went by, I began to feel like I was disturbing him. He wasn’t responding with the same energy anymore, so I decided to give him some space. I intentionally stopped talking about it for a few weeks because I didn’t want to choke him with persuasion.

After some weeks, I reached out again just to remind him, hoping maybe he had made progress. But this time, he told me he hadn’t joined yet because he wanted to buy a new guitar first. That was the last time we discussed it because i didn't know his savings plans. I don't want to put him under pressure. Uptill now, I’m still waiting for him to get that brand-new guitar. I honestly don’t know how long it will take, but I still hope he eventually buys it and joins.

Seriously you made a point here some people like this Ponzi scheme where they will pay huge amount of money and got scammed. But to work and earn on this is problem, that's what they keep asking me if they join will they start cashing out.

With all the ponzi schemes they still haven't learnt that easy money isn't good

That's it now they need soft life.

That Ponzi scheme they even do they did it with better money ooo

Hive can actually do both, support his passion and get him money, but it takes consistency.

If only he knows, sometimes it's when you are on the block chain you will understand better

Yesoo, he will later come back

Some good points here ! The way I explain it is that I think of Hive as a long term savings plan. It's okay to cash out some earnings (although I haven't yet), but as long as the amount saved gradually grows then your earnings will too.

That is particularly the case with HBD. It earns 15% APY interest if you've got it in Savings, which is better than pretty much any bank or savings account. So sticking HBD into savings and then just cashing out 50% of the interest means it'll still keep on growing.

How long would it take to pay for a new guitar at that rate ? If your friend has any money put aside to cover a guitar, then his post earnings (50% of which could be in HBD, and assuming he's any good as a musician, of course) would likely cover that fairly quickly.

That's a great idea, I just hope he didn't use the guitar as an excuse but I Will talk to him about it. Thank you so much🙏
