It was truly an uplifting experience to watch the launch of the 24th Hive-funded borehole at Barekese. There was so much excitement and energy as the community watched the handover of their newly constructed borehole—a vital resource that would benefit the students at the SDA College of Health and residents of Barekese alike. It was such a rewarding moment for all of us there, especially for those waiting for years to have access to safe and reliable drinking water.
For me as a project manager, I am extremely gratified by each additional community I get to add to the growing list of communities positively impacted by clean water. I feel an immense amount of gratitude knowing Barekese has joined the numerous villages around the world whose water needs have been supported through Hive-funded boreholes. Each project continues to remind me why this mission is important, and today's celebrations reinforced my purpose once again.
From the start of the ceremony through to the final moments of the ceremony, the essence of the event was great. In attendance were numerous students from the SDA College of Health along with their school officials, all of whom were eager to observe and celebrate this major milestone with the community. Their presence made the day even more memorable. This launching event transcended mere events; it symbolised hope.

Watching the students smile as they saw water flow from the new borehole was a memory that I will never forget. In every smile, I could see three things—relief, gratitude, and possibility. These smiles represent hope for the education-based community and for the entire Barekese Township. Clean water has an incredible ability to transform everything it comes into contact with.
This accomplishment is another example of how technology can be utilised for positive purposes. Through the support of the Hive Blockchain Community and the generosity of the Hive community, Barekese now has a sustainable source of water that will last for generations. At @Wellsforall, we are dedicated to continuing to assist other communities throughout Africa to achieve similar positive impacts from having clean water.

As we celebrate the completion of the 24th borehole, we are also looking forward to what the future holds. Next week work will begin on our 25th borehole, and we are looking forward to sharing our progress on this new journey. Together we are making a difference.
