MY ACCOMMODATION ADVENTURES ; FROM HOSTEL TO APARTMENT.

in HiveGhana5 months ago

I was in the hostel through out my secondary school and I can tell you this I loved hostel adventures.. I didn't know how to trek to school, I had Serene environment for learning and reading, my boarding fees covered both my medications and my feeding and everything so I didn't have issues... I carried this mentality to university....

Immediately after my secondary, I had admission into tertiary institution and I have excited.... My parents asked me if I will stay at home or continue staying in the hostel, I told them I will continue to stay in the hostel to release some stressed...

I applied for hostel space and luckily for me I was given because the space is always given by luck. I was shocked when I discovered that hostel fees was 12k, and I was contemplating if this money covered our feeding though we were more than thousands...

Omor, I discovered tertiary institution is different from secondary school.... Here in my hostel,
You don't cook, you don't iron, no home appliances, no heater, ... Rules and regulations governing the accomodation was too much.... Hostel is locked by 9pm and opened by 6pm... Eheheheheh, see me oOoOO... Anytime I come back from wherever I went to, I have to be running from wherever I was, and it's always tiring...

In the room I was, they were sets of bad influence that almost influenced my life, but anything I remember home training, I will retrace that step. In that very room, I had a very wonderful experience were I dropped my clothes on my bed and the next 2 seconds I turned my head, my clothes disappeared from my bed and I later found my bunky wearing that same clothes.... But because of God, I calmly let by gone be by gones...

I enjoyed staying in the hostel because of the constant 247 availability of light.... Finish
In the hostel, there's no privacy, people pron to insult you, age is just a number there, and the high cost of food there, omor in a day, I can buy food of 10k and I'm not still satisfied and in the hostel oppression is too much

Ladies and gentlemen, seeing all of this, I opted out to get an apartment outside, that guy for my parents, they understood from my own point of view, I needed my privacy and space, I need to be cooking my own food, I know I can use 2k now to cook spaghetti and eat, and eat again till my satisfaction....

I got an apartment close to school and I can gladly say that I love it there, though there's no constant light, but I know that nobody is oppressing me with food or anything and I love it there... I can go out and come back without having a feeling that I won't reach the hostel before it is locked, infact when I was in the hostel, the fear of going out and been locked outside was why I gave myself a role that anything after 7pm I am out.

Here in my apartment, there is no rules and regulations governing anybody, I live my life to the fullest, I arrange my room the way I want it to be and even if I want you keep it dirty, it's my room.... I am comfortable there and I love it

My experience in the hostel was fun, for real, I meant good friends, people and connection, it helped me too and I took my first role of leadership from there as a hall president.... Hostel taught me a lot... I learned and relearned...

In all of this, I still prefer off campus to hostel.. most especially for the food, time and the privacy aspect.

Your hostel is kind of rigid.
