Hi guys,
I know i owe you guys another tutorial on curation trails with more explanation however work schedule has yet to permit me on that and since this week Ghana is hosting the Annual African Council of Optometry and Ghana Optometric Association meeting, i have been busy with preparations.
The program is slated for the Thursday, 19th of October to the Sunday, 22nd of October, irrespective of this though, you can be rest assured we will find time and continue with our lessons or tutorials on hive.vote. If you have any questions from the previous tutorial you can reach out to me or any of the Ghanaian leaders on discord and you will be aided. I do hope we have all been able to give it a try though.
Why Fanbase
So you may be wondering why do i even have to learn about this feature or make use of it, how would it aid me on my journey on the hive blockchain and would there be any detrimental effect to not using it or for using it? Can't i just do my own thing? etc. I surely can not think of all the questions that many of us may be wondering or having however these are few i could come up with and i am hoping to address it to all our benefits.
The first thing i would want to mention is that the hive blockchain is truly decentralized, you are free to give these tutorials a try, you are free to wan to patronize the hive.vote platform and learn about its features and in the same vain you can just skip everything and go about your regular activity on the blockchain and in our community, there's no penalty for that, no one is going to penalize you and it wouldn't affect you in anyway positively or negatively.
We decided to learn about fanbase and curation trail because we wanted to learn about ways that we can maximize our accounts effort as well as making certain things easier for us, whiles we focus on what we may want to focus on. Multitasking is not so easy to do, and i speak from experience when i say this, and so i always try to maximize effort in everything i do.
So the idea of fanbase is such that we all have some particular individuals that we love their works so much, we hardly ever want to miss them and even when we do we always find ways to go back and read their works, these individuals always receive our votes. So fanbase gives us the option of our account always visiting this person when they post so that even when we miss their posts, we can always support them.
You may do this for the benefit of curation rewards, assuming you are focused on an individual that tends to reach the trending list easily, or you may do it to support the works of others. Whichever your intention may be, do know that fanbase would make that work easier for you. And you get the options to edit and limit certain parameters too.
But then just as i said, you do not have to do it just because we learnt about it or we are talking about it, it is free knowledge, you can take it and perhaps apply it later however i do hope that at his point we are all quite familiar with fanbase, we have our hive signer accounts and could navigate the dashboard quite easily.
Conclusion
In our next session we would hopefully learn a few things about curation trails and some of the popular ones. We would also look at how to set ones own curation trail until then i do hope that this helped someone out there.
