For as long as I can remember in the history of Ghanaian politics and governance, there’s really nothing to good to talk about because it’s been the same thing over and over Ghanaian. Most of our politicians have a history of corruption and stealing from the people at any given opportunity.
We’ve had so many different parties come into power over the years and I have equally voted for a number of parties which I ended up regretting because what they promised was just to make us vote for them. They came into power and the story was a different thing, the economy went from frying pan to fire, citizens were suffering while those in power were having fun. When you voice out your concerns, you get arrested. There was literally nothing like freedom of speech in our country anymore.
I guess we had had enough as a country and it reflected in our last elections. We went out to vote as a country and we made sure to vote for the person who would actually bring us the change we’ve always been waiting for. I’ve the past few months of this party being in power, I’ve seen a lot of changes in my country, Ghana and I know others will also attest to that. First of all, this government has taken it upon themselves to fish out all the public servants and high profile politicians who have been stealing for us. In addition to this, the government is audit all public offices on their activities over the last 4 years.
When I say it’s a disaster, believe me. Because there’s actually a lot of money in this country yet we are suffering . I’ve been keeping up with these audits and meeting and you won’t believe someone and his wife managed to loot of 78.5 million Ghana cedis in less than 4 years. Let me increase your anger this evening, can you believe someone took money out of the offices coder just to travel and this money was money for disabled people. When he was questioned, his excuse was that he was going to return the money but it was never returned.
In my point of view, these people need to be arrested and made to serve jail time in prison. But since this is the first time something of this kind is happening, they are just freezing assets of guilty people and I think this also in a way serves as a deterrent to others. Something like this has never been done in my country as far as I know and this is actually a step in the right direction. Ghana must do better!

Politics is a dirty game, and politicians are just in more to loot money and have free access to many countries. The corruption is too much, and the poor masses suffer the most.
