Hello everyone, how is your day going over there? Mine is moving on smoothly here for now and I pray it ends smoothly. If you haven't seen the Hive Ghana prompt, you can check it out here and you can participate as well. The contest says "African food or Western food, which one do you prefer?".

Firstly, food is something we all can't do without so whether it is Western or African food we just have to eat something to stay alive. I love both African and Western food because I have benefited from both of them. So let's see what I would go for down there.

I prefer Western food, the reason why I love Western food is because they are very easy to cook, and it doesn't take time like African dishes. For instance, the making of Amala alone will take 50 minutes, not to mention the kind of soup you want to do for it.

Now let's talk about Western food, no matter how much time any Western food takes it can't be as long as the time African food takes. Don't get me wrong I love African food as well, but because it takes time to cook that is why I don't do it often.

When I was growing up, my Mom raised us with both Western and African food because she noticed that not all her children loved African food, during that time I always preferred the intercontinental dish to African food. Because whenever my Mom wants to cook African food she stays longer in the kitchen. But when it is an intercontinental dish it doesn't waste time at all.

As an adult, the kind of work I am doing doesn't give me time to stay longer in the kitchen, so almost all my food is intercontinental. I do make African food when I am not going to work and that comes once in a while.

Even when I go to a party, I don't ask for African food, someone has challenged me about that before and my answer to the person was that I am used to intercontinental dishes.

Meanwhile, I can't go out and be eating with my hands soaked in soup, and my culture doesn't appreciate someone using a spoon or fork to eat swallow food. So, it is better I go for what I can eat comfortably.

So if I am to choose, I would choose Western food over and over again simply because they are very easy to prepare, they are not costly and I wouldn't lie about the fact that I love eating it so much.

Who doesn't love fast food; most Western foods are so easy to prepare unlike African food. I really enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the beautiful comment, Western food will always be my first choice because it doesn't take time to prepare.
Though I love African food as well but I don't have such time to stay in the kitchen too long

Yummy amazing

You have said it all, both continental dishes and African dishes are valuable. Through African dishes are nice, rice and natural but they take longer time to prepare and not everyone has the luxury of time.
