If everyone wants to be honest, the truth is we all wish we were adults and presently most of us including me are regretting it. Before I go deep into our weekly prompt I would like to welcome everyone to my blog and yeah thank you for stopping by.
Now talking about adulthood, and if I wish I was an adult when I was growing up? Yes I wish I was an adult while growing up. In fact I couldn't wait to grow,I already had a list of things I will do when I become an adult, funny enough I have not done most of them.
Did I regret becoming an adult? Yes I regret, everyday I am full of regrets.I wish if it is possible not to grow up.I keep saying that one thing I wish for and till today I regret is wishing I was an adult.
The funny thing about adulthood is you are on your own, getting to adulthood. I realize that everyone is just busy trying to meet up with the daily basics of life, and it is funny how nobody finds jokes funny anymore.
A Nigerian song artist called Omolade Bisiriyu popularly known with her stage name as Lade sang a song titled ‘adulthood na scam’ and in the intro of the song she said “nobody go ask if you don chop, nobody go send you free money,if you no get na you sabi, adulthood na scam.
This song was a hit, especially in Nigeria, and honestly this song hit different when your wallet is empty and you have scroll your contacts but nobody to call for help, you just don't know what to do and to make better worse you don't have what to eat.
Moment you don't have to eat, that the moment you miss your parents house more,at that moment you start to appreciate your parents more, that moment you being to understand what life is all about, and at that moment you remember when your parent said don't worry when the times comes you will understand, then you be like Dad and mom the time has come and guess what I understand.
The funny part is you will understand even without any one telling you or explaining to you that guy you are an adult pick up yourself and start taking responsibility, you don't even need to take anyone responsible, taking your own responsibility is more than enough to tell you in are welcome to adulthood.
Now the last question is how has been an adulthood so far? I will be a lier to say it has being fine, don't get me wrong aging is beautiful and also a blessing, but the responsibility one has to take after becoming an adult is very overwhelming, wait until you move out of your parent house.
And honestly I feel adulthood is even more difficult in Nigeria, because we have lot of factors affecting the growth of our youth most especially our source of income.
And honestly after becoming an adult I discovered a lot about myself which am really liking, I have grown to be a beautiful and strong woman and am proud of myself.
Honestly, adulthood is a tough phase but what can we do we have to get there. That is when you start missing childhood but we can't be there forever.
Truly, many of us had no idea what we were signing up for when we wanted to be grown ups so bad. We only admired the independence and freedom that comes with it from afar.
