Marriage is something very important and something that should be held in high esteem, as it is what binds two people together and makes them one.
Marriage is the union of two people who want to fulfill their purpose.
Sometimes the essence of marriage is ignored, and because of this negligence, marriage seems to be a very serious thing.
I have grown, and I have seen marriages that work very well.
I don't know how people of the old made themselves to the point of staying in their marriages.
Couples are supposed to be understanding; they are supposed to love themselves and live in peace, but gone are the days when people used to do these things.
We cannot avoid to say that women or wives must submit to their husbands and and husbands must also love their wives and listen to them too.
Today, because of how the world has evolved, these things are not seen in marriages.
There are things that have contributed to uncertainties in today's marriages, thereby making it hard for people to find love and settle down to marry.
These things are:
Gender Equality: The world has made it so that women are now equal to men in terms of work, education, political positions, etc.
Women are given the opportunity to succeed in all spheres of life, thereby making them feel that they cannot submit to their husbands.
Men were naturally created to be bosses, and therefore, no man would want his wife to sit on his head.
Women, on the other hand, feel that they were oppressed for too long, so any opportunity they had to be top, they used with their emotions.
Civilization: New knowledge and technologies have made marriage something we are afraid of.
Before now, women could not achieve a lot of things, like having to sell enough for themselves and their families, but now that a woman can pick up her phone and do digital marketing, making money is no longer a hard thing for a woman to do, so since they can have what they want at ease, no woman wants to depend on a man for money, so when they get married, they feel that they take care of themselves, and they don't need anyone's assistant, not even their husbands.
Lack of Personal Development: Personal development is not just for skills; if you are to be personally developed, you need to build character too.
There are people who are very low in character, and this can cause them not to have good relationships or even keep them.
No matter how you conceal your character, one day it will be known.
Marriage is not hard, but it is only made hard by the people involved.
To ensure that, you are not uncertain about marriage. I feel people should make sure that they are mature before marrying, and they should also know that marriage is forever, and if they are not really sure of it, they should not go into it.
