Love, just like many other life experiences, is a double-edged sword, more like painted as a paradox of source of immense joy and, at times, source of deep pain too. Loving someone often comes with sacrifices and these sacrifices can sometimes be overwhelming that we begin to question ourselves if it was worth it jumping on this emotional rollercoaster at all?
At it's core, Love is a bond formed between two people who understand and value each other. It is neither easy nor hard. However, it becomes more complex when we've been scarred by our previous outings... Living with the insecurities, past traumas and unmet expectations can amplify little misunderstandings and conflicts in our present love. So isn't it fair to say that love, in its purest form, is simple? Just the act of caring deeply for someone?
Love doesn't have to hurt to be meaningful even though it's said that anything worthwhile requires effort but then, there's a significant difference between effort and unnecessary suffering.
Relationships require a lot of work; the compromise, communication and commitment are essential to drive it forward which sometimes can be overwhelming. Yet, love often comes with the sense of ease.
A love that consistently gets you worried, drains you and makes you question your worth isn't love; It is a struggle...
This is not to say that love comes without sufferings but it's to say that it isn't the norm.... Once of twice, there may be misunderstandings, but these are exceptions not the rule, these misunderstandings when settled amicably further strengthens the bond rather than tearing it apart.
The question of whether love worths it depends on what you seek in love. The motive alone makes the whole different. For someone who craves excitement alone, it'll surely be worth it but for someone who's in for stability and mutual respect, love might feel exhausting if not aligned with those values.
The worth of love also depends on the person you're in love with. Love with the right person fosters growth and development in all life's sector but loving the wrong person scatters the little you've built.
One great factor in making relationships worthwhile is authenticity. Never start a relationship on the foundation of lies..Be you!! Seeing love as a game where you are in to impress will definitely pass the wrong message across of who you truly are. Now tell me, how long do you intend on living behind the mask of another personality?
Ultimately, love is what you make of it... It's not always easy, but then it should never be a struggle. Love doesn't have to be hard to be real, nor does it have to be easy to be worthwhile. It all lies in finding someone who share the same values and whose vision of love aligns with yours.
In the end, the right relationship brings out the best in you when you're with the right person. And that kind of love? It’s absolutely worth it.
