A 30 years old Ghanaian activist Yvette Tetteh becomes the first person to swim across. The Volta river is the largest manmade lake in the world by surface area which is about 450 kilometers.

Yvette Tetteh was accompanied by researchers from the [Or foundation] who took water and air samples along in her 40 day swim in a quest to create awareness of water pollution in Ghana.

According to Yvette Tetteh, the aim of this swim was bringing people to the experience of what it feels like to be at that part of Ghana and to show people it is worth it to pay attention to the space and preserve the beauty of it.

There’s no action that people take unless they care. ~ Yvette Tetteh

Her actions were a remarkable display of courage and determination and profound love for her country’s natural resources. This awe-inspiring feat highlights the need to preserving Ghana’s water bodies and creating environmental awareness. By leveraging her newly found recognition, she aims at inspiring young Ghanaians to put in efforts preserving the country’s resources, cultivating a generation of conscious citizens of the environment.

I thinks its time we all join hands in actively participate in environmentally preservation.
