AN EXPOSITORY ABOUT MYSELF
I find it rather interesting to intimate people about myself especially that I believe it would be a source of inspiration to others, moving forward. It’s also a pleasure to share my experiences here, while in a bid to talk or share expressively my growth, failure and success process(es) My name is Peter Outstanding Omuvbie.

I was blessed into the beautiful family of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Omuvbie, four siblings; three boys and a girl. These by far have been a beautiful part of my life’s story or journey so far and I’m ever grateful to God for them. Growing up with them has been both memorable and adorable. I have learnt to enjoy both the good and the bad experiences while the times lasted, for it’s the bond that we share that ties us together.

I remember moments when we’ve had to quarrel and sometimes even fight over food, misunderstandings, money, who to sing and who not to, days when we played together when we were not supposed and as a result, we were all flogged or punished together. Schooling was fun because we attended the same nursery, primary and secondary institution were we had to order yam and akara(bean cake) during break time, zobo and biscuit, sweets, etc as the case may be. We enjoyed all these because, my mum would pay for them upfront on our behalf and all we needed to do was to collect them during the recess time. What beautiful moments those were.

Talking about learning, it was on another level entirely. There were times for sports that were very engaging every Thursday; class activity was engaging too, and learning was fun. We learned to make the guitar from wooden materials. Corper wires were used as strings to aid the playing of the guitar, and up till now, it’s a moment to remember. I could also remember that I had a major competition at school then by name Fatima. Fatima was quite a brilliant student, and I was determined to be better. I put so much into reading and doing better academically; I got good grades in my tests and exams, answered questions in class, and all that. This, in turn, worked so much in me, so much that even though I wasn’t able to beat her in class before we graduated, it worked friendship and academic excellence too on my part, and since then, it hasn’t been the same.

MY STATE OF ORIGIN AND TERTIARY EDUCATION
I hail from Delta State and have bagged a degree in Economics (B.Sc.) from the prestigious University of Abuja. It was four years of intense and rigorous study and training. Both are working hard to be physically and spiritually relevant, i.e., before God and man. I had several engagements at Fellowship, FCS (Fellowship of Christian Students), ranging from positions to responsibilities at different levels. I was first my class/level coordinator, then assistant brothers coordinator of the fellowship, then general secretary, and then President of the Fellowship. All these positions warranted a level of consecration and attention, especially since they conferred responsibility of me. Having to look out for the people, provide for their needs as much as possible, pray for them, sought out issues where necessary, etc.

On the other hand, academically, tutorials for my course mates were ongoing, classes were to be attended, meetings were to be held, and counseling sessions were to be held, amongst many others. The experience was stretching and disturbing at some points; however, I learned a great deal about how life works: relating with people (people management), understanding the voice of God better, and how He works with His people. I learned resilience over time, working under pressure with little or no supervision and ensuring that the goals and objectives are reached on the due and scheduled date based on the existing plan made on the ground. It was a beautiful experience, and graduation was truly a joy and a reason to cry and reflect. Thinking about the times we shared and the moments we had together (love feasts, open air meetings, hangouts, singles weekend, social week, etc.), it indeed was/is something to be grateful for, and I appreciate God for it all, never taking any of it for granted. I would not fail to mention someone who played a vital role in my life while at the university by name, Bolaji Oluwatosin Happiness. God bless you.

Currently, I am serving my country under a one-year compulsory government-established platform where Nigerian youths are being paid to render service to their nation in various ways. Corp members are posted to different places across the state, and no one corp member is allowed to serve in his/her original state, as the case my be, except otherwise stated. After this, I trust God to take me to the next level of my life. Some of the things that catch my fantasy are truthfulness, humility, mutual respect, sacrifice, obedience, self-control, and being teachable, among others. My favorite colors are blue, gold, black, and brown (depending). I love to cook, provided all ingredients and items needed to aid the process are readily available. Cooking can be fun, I tell you. I love to write, sing and carry on leadership responsibility as much as is possible or afforded me by God. I’m a lover of God and a teacher of His truth.

The above, I believe, is a brief summary about myself. I was introduced to this platform by a friend of mine @hively while we had a brief discussion. I felt at home with the idea and decided to give it a shot. I believe that my involvement in this platform, beyond the financial involvement, would help me bring my skills and abilities to the doorstep of those who are in need of it, even at professional levels. I truly am glad to be here, and I believe that we’d progressively be a positive influence on the global community in this world. Thank you.
