Good ladies and gentlemen, panel judges, accurate timekeepers, and my fellow debaters. Standing before you is Ariyo Esther, and I am in Jss 2. I am supporting the motion which says: a teacher is better than a doctor. Before I proceed with my points, I would like to define two key words which are teacher and doctor.

A teacher is a person or an entity which helps others acquire more knowledge, skills, values, or habits. This occurs in formal settings such asc schools, colleges, or universities, or in informal ways through private mentoring, private coaching, or guiding in everyday life.
A teacher is usually the first person to detect a child's academic performance, not the doctor. He or she is skilled in his or her own job, earning him or her a direct position in issues of academics.
A doctor, on the other hand, is a trained medical professional who has the authority to diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases, injuries, and other physical or psychological health conditions.
Come to think of it, a doctor is invalid without a teacher, either a lecturer at the university or secondary school teachers; they are all teachers. Doctors are pruned by teachers, motivated by teachers, and led to see the light source by the teacher.
Though we might argue that teachers are underpaid in Nigeria, however, teachers in Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, and many more countries are among the highest-paid in the world in absolute terms. Though doctors still earn more, the difference is less dramatic.
It is ludicrous to think that Nigerian teachers are not better. Someone who teaches how something is done cannot be better than someone who practices what the teachers teaches? I am not myopic here, but this is the fact.
In terms of rights, teachers are human; they can solicit financial support from banks equally. The same rights applicable to doctors are applicable to them based on the course of study.
Encomiums should be given to the teachers who suffered to teach us to read and write, who take their time to plan lessons and notes.
Tribute to my teachers: Teacher bisola, for giving me my first ever story book. She deserves a eulogy.
Accolades to various teachers who died while teaching students.
One taught me the difference between “come off,” which means to happen as planned or to succeed, and “come up,” which is similar to “come off” but is unexpected and unplanned
Kudos to my precious teachers at Rosenik Private School. May the Almighty equip you more than ever.
I hope with these few points of mine, I have been able to convince you and not to confuse you that teachers are better than doctors. Thanks.
This is actually how we debated during my stay in Rosenik Private School.
