Cards From My Personal Collection: Doug Mientkiewicz 2002 Upper Deck Baseball Card

in Trading Cards!8 months ago

Doug Mientkiewicz might have one of the most chaotic last names I've ever read on a baseball card. I'm not judging though, I think it's pretty cool and memorable.

Doug had a nice, respectable MLB career that lasted twelve years from 1998-2009, seven of which were with the Twins. Starting in 2004 Doug would not stay with another team for more than a season. He'd play for the Red Sox, Mets, Royals, Yankees, Pirates and Dodgers.

Doug had a nice five year run from about 2001-2005 where he played in an average of 130 games a season and hit an average of about 11 homeruns a season. In 2001 Doug won a Gold Glove at first base and in 2004 he won a World Series with the Red Sox.

Doug appeared in his last pro game in 2009 and retired in 2010. He recorded 899 hits, 60 home runs, 405 RBIs and had a career batting average of .271.
