Money is one of life's many important things. It's something most people can agree is vital. While not everyone feels strongly about being wealthy or obtaining more wealth, It's something that everyone needs in order to survive in one way or another. Sometimes we don't notice it in our daily lives but it is everywhere. We're spending money when we turn on the lights. We spend it when we take a shower, drive the car, or even when we're eating something.
How much attention we pay to it depends on our financial situation, how in need of money we are at any given time. We may not notice it when everything's going fine and nothing unexpected occurs. But when we're in dire need of money we will definitely be stressed about it.
Everyone is pursuing money. Most people don't have enough of it, but even those with more than enough continue to seek more. Even if people don't have anything specific they want to possess or spend the money on, having more money means having financial security and the ability to weather through any storm that money can get you through. And money can get a lot of things done and open a lot of doors.
Like everyone else, I'm also pursuing wealth. I'm not rich. My family is not rich.
If an enormous sum of money fell from the sky today right in front of me I wouldn't know how to spend it. That's because I don't have anything in particular that I want to buy. But I continue to pursue wealth anyway because of the desire for financial security. If I'm able to accumulate a sizable fortune, then I'm financially secure. I can choose how I live my life and what to spend my time on rather than working day after day for a paycheck just so I have enough to cover the month's expense.
If I never think and try to actively accumulate wealth then I don't think my dream of having enough money to be financially secure will ever happen in this life. I can work from now till old age and the amount I managed to get just from saving would be negligible.
That's where saving money and investing it with the hope that the amount would grow into something much much more comes in. I can't see any other way for me to strike it rich.
Investment is not without risk of loss though. The stock and crypto market is in a bad spot right now. It's the worst I've seen in recent history. Those who hold their assets will be fine while those who sell will be at a loss.
Most of the time when people use the word investment they use it loosely and it refers to the act of speculation. Crypto investment is one such thing. It's volatile, you can't be sure if it'll keep going up or down. There's no guarantee that you'll get your principal back. But with the high risk, the reward is also equally high. So it's not all that bad if you're fine with loss. No wonder so many people warn to only invest if you're fine with losing it.
My only experience with investing is in crypto. I guess I don't have any investing experience then since crypto investment is just crypto speculation. I hope I'm able to grow my wealth over time and one day achieve my dream.
