John came to his house hurriedly, pressed the calling bell non-stop.
Josefina, his mother, opened the door and shouted at him.
Have you gone crazy, you idiot?
He didn't answer but went inside his room and bolted it from inside.
Quizzical about this indifferent activity, his mother banged the door non-stop. But there was no response from him. This is enough for his mother to press the panic button. Hearing her loud noise, her neighbors came to her rescue and questioned her about the reason behind her shouting. She explained everything in detail to them and one among the two persons, after hearing the complete episode, made up his mind to break open the door.
The other person who accompanied him also got the same though and signaled him towards the door. Both ran towards the door and hit it hard with full force. That door is so strong and did not budge even a millimeter. The situation continued to become so worse making Josefina break into tears. Immediately, one neighbor made a call to the local rescue squad.
In spite of huge confusion that is happening outside, there is neither any reaction nor response from John who bolted the room from inside. None was in the position to guess as to what was happening inside the room.
It was a painful quarter-hour for Josefina. The vehicle of the rescue squad made a screeching halt in front of their house. Immediately, the rescue team jumped into action. They got themselves updated about the situation within a few moments and made a plan to break open the door.
When this melee is going on outside, all of a sudden, John came out. There was deafening silence and all of them were stunned for a moment. Sullen looking John straightly went near the refrigerator, opened it, took a fruit crush bottle, took a sip, and sat on the settee comfortably. He looked as if he has not done anything wrong and nothing untoward incident has had happened.
She's in all smiles as soon as she saw him safe and sound, putting the brakes on the extent of danger brooding in her mind. But her happiness did not last even a moment and it got converted into wild anger very soon given the situation she is in. Hastily, she went near him and shouted at him like anything and showed him all those present in their house.
"Did you know what all these people are doing inside our home?" she asked.
"Oh! hell damn yes, as soon as I saw these fellows, I thought of asking you what was happening in our house," he said recklessly.
On hearing those words, she was at a loss of words. Then she started searching for something, after a moment, she located it. It was an iron rod. Picking it up, she pounced on him.
"You nasty bugger, you created a suicide like situation by bolting inside the room and stayed in it without responding to my cries and our neighbours and members of the rescue team squad have arrived in here to save your life, but you are speaking some nonsense." Saying so, she thrashed him like anything. Immediately, the rescue team members stopped his mother and plucked the rod from her hands.
Finally, all were interested to know as to what had happened that made him sit forlorn in his room. When they asked him, pat came the reply from him.
"BREAKUP!"

Just wanted some attention to get over that rejection ... but got more than he wanted once Mom got that iron rod!
