He wakes up startled in the cemetery, not knowing how he got there. He wanders among the tombs, desperately looking for a way out, but no door will allow him to cross.Distressed, he tries to ask for help from the caretakers and visitors, but no one can see or hear him.
The days go by in a terrifying limbo. He feels no hunger, only an unquenchable thirst that he cannot quench. Lost in a maze of blurred memories, he wonders what happened before he fell asleep that night.
Until one afternoon, a funeral procession enters the cemetery. Among the mourners, he recognizes his loved ones: parents, siblings, girlfriend and students. He follows the procession to a recent grave and there, petrified, he reads his own name on the tombstone:
In that instant, memories assail him with unusual violence. He relives the horrifying details of his tragic death in a car accident. Now he understands everything: he is a soul in pain, trapped on the earthly plane, unable to cross over to the Beyond until he accepts his cruel fate.
