The gloomy stranger, taking the last sip of his beer, placed the empty container on the table. At that instant, flames burst out of the container, rising to touch the ceiling, and then abruptly extinguished, leaving everyone present stunned and terrified.
They soon realized that the strange man had disappeared without a trace. It was then that they noticed that, in the place where he had been sitting, there remained a body smoked and devoured by flames.
There, on the ceiling, his smoke had taken the shape of the devil's face, instilling panic in the spectators.
Many fled the place, while others whispered that Satan himself had taken the brawler away.
It was almost impossible to move the body, as it seemed to be stuck to the chair. After a great effort, they managed to place him in a larger coffin, so that they could bury him.
Since that night, the stranger's table remains empty, for it is said that his soul is still there, condemned to eternity for having defied the devil himself.
The bartender avoids staying alone in the place, because on more than one occasion he has seen the shadow of the man sitting in the same place, as if he was still drinking his beer.
