Hand colored with colored pencils: Tutle Didgeridoo

Ready to see a new drawing? I hope so, because I just finished a new one by hand today and I'm really excited to share the process with you. But before we begin, I'd love to send you all a big hug, because that's essential between us. I consider you my friends and virtual family. I love this community because of the people I've met and the excellent content I see every day. Thank you for letting me be a part of it too. Friends, my drawing is dedicated to an instrument, the Tutle Didgeridoo.

This instrument, my friends, is almost ancient; it's one of the oldest wind instruments I've drawn here. It's a flute typical of Australia, specifically from the first generations of people in the country who created it. Like any flute, it works by blowing air into one end, and the sound is created at the other. If you look closely, it doesn't have small holes to control the airflow. That's because everything is done from the mouth. The sound comes from the palate and enters the flute as a resonant buzz.

This playing technique allows the player to produce much longer notes than could be achieved with other flutes, since pauses are necessary to breathe. The name, on the other hand, is curious for this instrument: Turtle Didgeridoo. It doesn't mean it's made from a turtle or turtle skin, haha. It's called that because it has painted and tribal designs as decoration on its sides.

You can zoom in on the images of the painting I made to see the small turtles in a tribal pattern. If you want to see it more clearly, you can look up the deck in the game using its identification number, which is i322.

In the last images I showed you above, you could see the completed artwork. In the first ones, you saw how I created it from the beginning. The Tutle Didgeridoo is undoubtedly incredible, just like every instrument in Rising Star. I'll be back soon with a new drawing dedicated to another deck. Cheers!
