The Power of Diversity - Diversity in the Business World

Diversity is talked about with inclusion and varieties, it is the act of involving different people of different cultural backgrounds, beliefs, ethnicity, gender, orientation, and rationale in every aspect of society to achieve the best possible result. Making varieties and choices available to everyone in society is a major catalyst for growth and development.

Diversity is needed in a globalized world and any society consisting of people with different religions, cultures, and skin colours will need to find ways to include the minority and immigrants into the western community. The best way to achieve this and prevent extremism is the integration of minorities into the majority society through the political participation of the people.

There’s been a huge lack of representation of the population in parliaments and so many other parts of the society like in companies where women are less represented. One of the major problems of global leadership is the lack of representation of people (with different cultures, religions and beliefs) in parliaments and other important sectors to represent them, not only as their faces but in their voices too. This problem can be solved by promoting unity in diversity.

Diversity contributes to growth, allowing people from different countries and cultures, people that do things in different ways come together, work together, interact and share ideas that will help grow the society double the way it would have grown normally. This is because there are different options to choose from. So many countries through globalization have been able to fulfil their workforce demand as a diverse workforce provides stability which has helped their economic development generally.

Companies that have successfully implemented cultural diversity in their company culture have increased their ability to solve problems faster because of shared ideas from people of different cultures, exposure, and ideas. They have access to different creativity through diverse perspectives giving a diverse set of solutions to different problems leading to bigger opportunities and an efficient work process.

Cultural diversity gives a company access to different skill sets from all over the world and this can increase the productivity of the company in long term. Not only the company benefits from diversity but also employees through working together as a team, learning from each other skills where any of them lacks and sharing personal experiences which could be of great helper to each of the employees leading to better teamwork and unity in achieving the company set goals.

Diversity can lead the society into a multi-culture globally open community with the right collection of leaders, representing every group of people (i.e., a representative for every culture/ethnic group).
