One of my close office colleague has been tested COVID positive

Today it was very unfortunate to hear that one of my close colleagues in office was tested COVID positive. He has been admitted to the hospital for the past 3 days. I couldn't contact him directly and talk but someone who was able to contact him told me the information. It was shocking news for me. Though this doesn't affect other colleagues as our office has been shut down for several months now. But this news has created a little bit of fear that anyone can get this deadly virus. The reason is that he is not someone who goes out frequently in spite of the lockdown. So, it is quite rare and unfortunate that he got the virus.

Looks like he was having a headache and fever for the past 2 weeks. He was thinking it was just a normal thing and was trying to sort it with normal medication. But 2 days back his doctor asked him to take a COVID test and when it took the test, the results were positive. He is now under medication in a hospital.

The sad thing about this news is that his wife and daughter were tested today and they were also identified to be COVID positive. They have to either be in the quarantine center or in-home quarantine. This makes me worry a lot now. If the whole family is quarantined how will they manage the day to day activities and household activities and who will take care of them. In our place, we still have a strict lockdown rule. If someone is affected, the place is locked down and the affected individuals are kept in-home quarantine. There will be one person from the municipality who would regularly visit them and give them the amenities that they require.

For my colleague, it was identified that only 10 percent of the lungs were affected and it was not too critical for him. My other colleague told me that today he is feeling a lot better but quite unfortunate that his family got the infection from him.

I'm already a bit careful by not going outside and I'm advising the same to my family members as well. But this incident makes me worry a little and makes me think that we have to be extra careful. Sometimes the virus carrier can be immune enough to fight the virus but what if we go to someone else's house and leave the virus there to someone else and come. So, it is better to not go out anywhere and be careful by taking all the safety measures.

Stay safe Bala. I hope he recovers soon along with the family.

Yes thanks, Sayee. Thanks for the prayers.

This is really bad news bade bhai. This is kind of normal news these days in India. Peoples are moving freely like nothing happens.⁦☹️⁩🤔

Yes, people are a bit careless when it comes to health. Especially they don't understand that it not only affects them but others as well. People need to learn. 🙂

Yes this is realy a bad situation in India 🤔😐

Yes bro. 🙂

Sorry to hear the news bro.

Back in Andaman one of my sister in law's found postive and is home quarantined. Now I worry much as there are kids in that home and how much the home quarantine be effective.

It actually helps bro. Home quarantine is much better than the quarantine centers for many reasons. The first reason is hygiene and the next thing is that it gives a psychological strength to stay in house rather than in quarantine centers or hospitals. Also in quarantine centers, the affected individuals are repeatedly exposed to the virus.

Have you watched this movie called "Virus"? It is a mallu movie but it clearly shows the current situation.

Humm! This is getting more scary. And many people are living anyhow here. Well, sorry about your friend. I pray he gets better soon.

Thank you so much for your prayers. He is getting a lot better now. Ya, it is a scary situation. I wish nobody gets this and we find a permanent solution soon.

What a bad news! I hope you won't get ill.

Ya hopefully. Good thing is that we are just staying home but it is still bad that people roam just like that without taking precautions.

Sometimes it is quite scary when the known ones gets infected.

I mean how much careful can one be. We have to go to market to buy things. And every now and then there are some unexpected things to take care of.

I usually go out just once in a week to buy groceries. And always try to maintain social distance.

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered something from Amazon. My mom told me that virus can be active on things for 2-3 days.

Too many things we don't notice. Don't know when we will get out of this situation.

When someone in my small city gets affected by the virus, especially when its near my home, it scares me.

Yes it is indeed scary. Some doctors say that for most of the people the virus would have affected them already and the immune system would have fought it already. But ya even then there is no guarantee that it cannot affect the same person again. So, we have to be careful. !BEER Cheers!

Stay safe... here in Italy things are going better, the number of daily infections is very low compared to that of a month ago.

That's nice. We were all actually scared only after hearing news about Italy. Glad that things are getting settled there. Even here people have started to manage with that and live alongside Corona. But better than before.

In Italy things are going better

That's good to hear. Hope there is soon a vaccination for this. 🙂
