It is necessary to analyze the components that shape this important psychological element such as self-esteem, since self-esteem is very influential in the personality of each individual and the components that act on it are quite complex.

Given the complexity of the meaning of self-esteem is important that we can discern about the elements that compose it as they allow us to understand that self-esteem goes beyond what many of us think.

What is self-esteem?

Self-esteem is a concept that we can build from different meanings and perceptions, especially considering that self-esteem can be composed of several elements and dimensions that travel and connect at a single point in common with the aim that we understand exactly the meaning of learning to value ourselves.

Based on this conceptualization, I believe it is pertinent to briefly explain some components of self-esteem:

[1] Perception: our mind is directly connected to the way we perceive our senses, which is why our thinking is focused on evaluating the results obtained from the stimuli we perceive from our environment and, it is impossible that we cannot respond to such stimuli, the reaction may be favorable or unfavorable, so we can conclude that based on how we perceive our environment is that we develop our own self-esteem.

[2] Self-concept: in order to let someone else evaluate us, we ourselves are really the guarantors of being able to know ourselves better than others, which is why we ourselves must develop our own personality criteria based on our own ideas, thoughts and beliefs.

[3] Emotions: we must divert our emotions to a construct of feelings that are motivational, since this point can achieve that our self-esteem is balanced in optimal values for our development before our peers.

[4] References: it is not illogical to be able to build our own self-esteem based on the reference we have from our socio-cultural environment, a construct of this type would be very good for us as it enhances the values and motivates us to raise and extrapolate moral and ethical values that help to value the entire environment that relates to us directly.
