Yeah, that actually makes a lot of sense. The years right after WWI were super unstable, especially in that part of Europe.
If that's the case, it's kind of sad that the one who buried it there never got the chance to return and enjoy the riches.
It gives one a good perspective on the idea of HODL forever, doesn't it?
