The Hidden Gem of Spellmonger
Hello splinterlands players across the world, how are you doing today? I will talk about SpellMonger today. Sometimes, we tag some cards as useless cards because one can't feel the impact of the cards or one does not know the best battle to use such monsters.
Few days ago, I made a mistake when deflection field field ruleset was given to me; I mistakenly picked Spellmonger of which all units have deflect ability. This simply means that, the thorns in the Spellmonger could not have any effect.
Bringing Spellmonger into this battle was not necessary, because its ability wasn't activated.
It wasn’t an intentional act, it was a mistake; and I did not observe the mistake until when the battle was going on, of which there was not I could again. I could not correct my mistake.
Therefore, we tend to underrate a certain card because we don't know the best way to use it.
Sincerely, every card in splinterlands is a good card when you have the best battle, and rules to use them.

You know when you are left with one summoner to decide, you have to use the best monsters to fight the battle. In this battle, I was given only one summoner which is Barthalams. Then, one of the best monsters for the first position was Frankarsgard; let's look at some reason I placed it in first position, they are:
That is the best position for Frankarsgard in this battle. This simply means that there was no better position for this monster than first position.
Frankarsgard’s health is the only highest health in my lineup. There was no monster rather than Frankarsgard
That could withstood the attack until 3rd round.
Chaos Furybringer

The reach ability Chaos Furybringer made it the most suitable monster in the second position. Though, if I had any other monster with reach ability, I would have preferred to use it; this was because Chaos Furybringer is easily destroyed in the battle.
The speed of Chaos Furybringer made it the highest speed attack monster in this battle; it was Chaos Furybringer that started the attack; and when Frankarsgard was eliminated, it was Chaos Furybringer That led to an attack.
Vengeful Monk

Ability: Opportunity

The opportunity ability of Vengeful Monk was very important- I brought Vengeful Monk to attack monsters with lowest health; unfortunately, my opponent used a monster with taunt ability. Hence, Vengeful Monk could not attack monsters with lowest health. If my opponent did not use a monster with taunt ability, Echelon or Vengeful Monk would have attacked by my Vengeful Monk.

Ability: Untrainable and thorn

I knew that without Spellmonger, my monsters with lowest health would not survive the battle. I meticulously placed Spellmonger because I knew the opponent's opportunity would attack the monster. I was very sure they would attack Spellmonger because it was the monster with the lowest health in my lineup; and that was the reason I did not use New Beluroc Aegis. Fortunately, the throne ability of Spellmonger eliminated two monsters from opponent’s lineup- Echelon and Vengeful Monk.

The impact of Ash Archer was felt in this battle very strong.

I had the opportunity to use 6 monsters because of my skills to arrange monsters.
Echelon was incredible in attack; contributed massively to the elimination of the majority of the opponent's monsters.
In my perception, some monsters are underrated because we don't have the best rules and position for such monsters. If one carefully and meticulously strategizes and analyzes the battles, such a player may discover the best position and rules for underrated monsters.
I have wrongly use Spellmonger adjacent to a monster that gives weapon training, of which is untrainable.
