Scientists have found that people who sit for long periods are more likely to develop heart-related diseases.
That discovery motivated me to go out for a walk. In most developed countries, walking isnt anything unusual. But for me, it is. As I walk past the houses lining the road, people inside those homes look at me curiously. Yesits true. I am the only one walking. No one else around here seems to take walking seriously.
When observed daily, the surroundings appear unchanged. But when seen again after a month, everything seems to have transformed. Because of all the rain, the environment has become lush and green. After walking for quite a while, I arrived at a familiar spot with a scenic view.
The sky is thick with clouds. A cool breeze is blowing. In the far west, between the cracks of the clouds, the sun is shining faintly. As it's sunset time, the sunlight feels cool rather than warm. A golden beam of light feels like it is pouring directly onto me.
Theres not a single person in sight. I feel as if I am alone in heaven.
It feels like this beautiful evening is meant only for me.
If only I could pause this moment.
