Traffic jams which are standstills are always annoying as it is truly a waste of time. On those occasions it is better to just accept it and maybe stretch one's legs etc.
In your case,the truck had a problem but sometimes it is not obvious what cause the problem and it gets frustrating. Hopefully you arrived on time for the christmas festivities.
