The joy of Christmas

For Christmas,
My heart leaped like a child on a trampoline
My savior was born!
She screamed, the harmattan stealing
Her song for its own.

For Christmas,
The choir rendered the aria,
The gloria mon deo,
The Christ the King,
The hymns sallying forth
From speakers and piano,
Trembling warble tingled my toes.

For Christmas,
I bought myself some smiles
In a bucket of cream and chicken,
The kids giggled through every rehearsed carol
And my heart was so full of joy
The joy of Christmas melted my heart
