Hello~ I'm back once again! WEll, I'm trying to be back more often, that 2 month hiatus was definitely not good for me and my mental health because I definitely did not have enough social interactions on the road aside from the really superficial talk about the weather and what the politicians are up to.
I do not like not having any creative outlet in these past few months either. I do think the creative side of my brain went to sleep again so like with small practices, I'm hoping to revive it. And since I already started an oil pastel series, I might as well follow through with it and fill it up like some artists do here XD

These are my sketch and I had to fill in my little duck first XD because I love ducks so much and it reminded me of the recent flood XD
So how I use my oil pastel is that I don't really smudge it but I use the stick itself to blend because I hate getting my hands dirty. plus when I blend with the stick itself, I usually retain the color instead of dulling it out when you blend it by smudging. It's kind of the same concept with when yuse acrylics and oil paint. I just wanted to really preserve the colors of what I'm doing plus I reaaally wanted a bright duck because it has been so gloomy in manila for some time now
Then for the final details, I did use a few gel pens to five it some life and definition, then I also used my brush marker for the really dark parts because the black oil pastel smudges too much for me to use in details, even when I tried using a palette knife for it.
And that is how my duck came to be! I really like this duvk UwU And I'm kind hoping next time I can try another blending technique. Cuz I see some people use this kind of solvent to dilute the oil pastel? But I will have to do a bit of research on it before I try it so that's me thing to look forward to!

i changed mediums too so my style always gets changed when i do that 🤣 like when i use watercolour, it's also a different me entirely
