Blue butterfly

It’s been really lovely to watch the evolution of a hobby.
Some time ago, I became interested in watercolor after spending my entire life paying absolutely no attention to this technique or to any painting technique, really. I had this misguided idea that you were either born with the talent or not, that certain things were impossible to learn, and I’m so glad I was wrong.

I’ve never taken a watercolor class. At most, I watch a few short and admittedly relaxing videos, but I’ve never been dedicated enough to actually study. Everything I create comes from pure enjoyment, alone, during moments of introspection and leisure, and I’ve enjoyed observing my own evolution in a hobby I’ve tried to keep exactly as a hobby should be: without pressure and without over-policing myself.

This was the second butterfly I’ve painted, and I love seeing how much I’ve already learned compared to the first one. I’m excited to paint the next ones.
