I designed a vibrant animal repeat pattern textile motif on A3 paper that brings a lively touch to any space

Hello hivers,
IMG_3282.jpeg
I’m excited to share with you all the beautiful textile animal repeat pattern I created in class. There are various types of repeat patterns, including:

  • Simple repeat pattern
  • Ogee
  • Diamond
  • Half drop
  • Scale
...and more. For my design, I chose to work on a simple repeat pattern.

Next, I selected the animals for my design: a cow head motif showing both sides of its face and a rabbit head motif. I sketched within a four by four-inch box and improvised a printing version using a charcoal bar to shade the back of the paper and trace it out. While it wasn't the conventional method, it was an opportunity for creativity when I didn't have a light box.

Here’s where I replicated the repeat pattern 👇

And here is the little rabbit I included to connect the continuous repeat pattern boxes:

Lol😅 you might be curious about what my hand was pointing at on the ground 😅

That’s the rabbit head sketch I used to unite the repeat pattern boxes into a simple repeat pattern.

I look forward to sharing my life drawing experience soon, so stay active. I appreciate each one of you!
