Half still holds summer's sunlight
Half stirs with autumn breezes
Even the river water, warm like a heated pool,
Turns cool and refreshing

Now comes barbecue season
Friends gather along the riverbank
Grilling meat and savoring every bite

Trying to make up for summer's lack of exercise
I walked and walked until I grew weary
Then took a nap at home

半分は夏の日差しが残り
半分は秋の風がそよぐ
温水プールのような川の水も
ひんやりとする

これからはバーベキューの季節
河川敷には仲間たちが集まり
肉を焼いて舌鼓を打つ

私は夏の間の運動不足を取り返そうと
歩いて歩いて歩き疲れて
家で昼寝をしてしまった
