My Marin was amazing really light with Shimano XTR components great for climbing and off-road stuff.
Nothing wrong with retro my road bike is a 1980s Cougar steel frame lopro time trial bike still really fast enough for me. I'm toying with building a carbon frame gravel bike if I can find a small frame. I get as much fun from building bikes as I do from riding these days
