Sunny Sunday ride (+video) and my yearly cycling stats

in Cyclingyesterday (edited)

I was having quite a lazy Sunday last weekend. I had done some things in house, but since the weather was quite nice I wanted to get outside. It is autumn in the Netherlands and that often means lots of rain and wind. But we had neither of them last weekend, so I collected my gear and went for a ride.
I also attached my camera to my bicycle, so I could make some nice shots.

It was already a bit late in the afternoon and since it gets dark quite quickly this time of the year I couldn't make a very big round.
I opened Komoot to see if I had a smaller round in the area. When I logged in I noticed that the Komoot website had an update. I selected a 45 kilometer ride in the polder.
Almost halfway through the ride I noticed that I had made a fault. It was a route with a ferry and the ferry was not in use on Sunday. That ment that I had to improvise. I chose to continue riding alongside the canal and followed the signs to towns in the neighborhood.
When I came home I had made a nice ride and I had 38 kilometer which I could add to my yearly total.

If you want to get an impression of the ride, check out the video below.

Yearly stats

I'm doing well if we look at the yearly stats. I'm still above the blue line, which is the average I should ride every week. But I do have to make my kilometers since I'm going on a business trip in two weeks and because of that I won't be commuting for a week.

Until last Sunday I made 4244 kilometers this year. This week I made 104,61 extra kilometers. That means I have 755,67 kilometer left to go.
That should be achievable 🚴🏻💪🏻

That's about 83km / week so should be doable, are you still commuting now the weather is getting worse? Temps are pretty good but the rain isn't nice.

Btw, I received a 10% discount voucher for continental products, I'm not using it so if you need new tires keep it in mind 😁

Yup. At least I try to. Today was fine. In cycled back afterbthe rain had stopped.
Tomorrow will be a different story with the upcoming storm 😬
I'll see how it is in the morning.

I always keep a small stock of parts I regularly need. And tires are one of them. So it's nice if I can buy them with a discount.
If you're not going to usenit yourself, I'm happy to use it!
Those Continental GP 4 season tires are great, but expensive 🤣

First I have to find out how long I can do with my mtb tires 😁

Let me know when you copied the code, I'll remove the picture

Got it! Thanks!

Nice thats a great goal and it seems to be archievable.

I hope so too, but I have good hopes!

I was once in the Netherlands, and it was around this time... and it was rainy and cold... 😂 I do understand your assumption, especially as you live there.. hehehe... Therefore, utilizing every sunny day for an outdoor activity is essential! And you did it well...

Bringing a camera along was a nice touch, as you can share it with us so that we can enjoy the beautiful Dutch countryside! 🙂

Thanks for sharing! I like videos like the one you made... They are good for moments when the weather is ugly, so we can check them out from the warm home... 😃

I don't really mind the cold, but I really dislike rain. Cycling in heavy rain is not funny.
But we do recentlynsee more short, heavy rains than hours of rain.

I finally found a good way to attach my camera, so I can shoot better images without any bodybor bicycle parts on film.
It's a nice way to show the scenery indeed.

Here I am, enjoying your cycling… My 1300-and-something kilometres this year feel like nothing next to your 4000—almost 5000! I clearly need to set myself some flashier goals, haha

Ah, that windmill in the distance always captivates me.
