Five adventurers

in Cycling3 days ago

Its inner tubes breathed in new air, filled with that element that would help it feel lighter, swifter. Its traction mechanism got a glance and a caress of approval, just as the hydroformed aluminium frame also received tender caresses and inspiring whispers, preparing it for a journey in which two hearts would work in unison, feeling adventurous and very grateful... 😁

I’m talking about her 👇

And of course, about me.

But in truth, there were five adventurers there in Santa Fe, a lovely coastal town in western Havana that can be enjoyed in countless ways, but above all by being close to the sea.

The three who complete the list of explorers are @muhammadhalim, @jesni and @jeniferzr. Yes, it was indeed a Hivers’ meet‑up! 😁

$1

The Zuloaga sisters live there, and Muhammad in a nearby municipality of another province, but we agreed to meet in the morning near the Police Station, with the sea as a backdrop, to explore that stretch which I had thought was only coastline, but which also has a small, very clean and enjoyable beach. In fact, @jeniferzr showed it in her post today.

It is remarkable how we all have different perspectives on a story. And how everything ultimately converges into what I believe holds great value: the wholesome act of sharing.

$1

With the exploration and the photos we had many conversations, and also silences in which each of us devoted ourselves to being present in that marvellous place, far from the city bustle and with the healing breath of the sea, which was very calm.

I was busy framing things. Admiring the stones, losing myself in the horizon with my gaze and my thoughts. And taking care as I walked there. No, I did not risk climbing that wall to gain a better view. I left that vision to our friend.

Whenever I come across these rocks I smile. They have a delicate garment.

Honestly, I do not know what this structure was. I heard them say it was a castle. I would have to ask a historian to find out what purpose that building overlooking the sea once had, but what I do know is that I enjoyed spending a while there before heading towards our next destination. And to get there, we had to cross through here.

And when we managed to cross… in the distance one could glimpse the… ahhh, I almost said it. 😂 Will you wait for the next post? I took some interesting photos there.

Today is the day to gaze at the sea. Look at these birds. They remained so peaceful on their trunks… although, when it comes to a group photo, there is always someone distracted who does not look at the photographer.

Zoom in on the photo so you can see. 😂

The twins were carrying some frames and began to use them creatively… but I was on the hunt.

Here I leave you the metrics I obtained with my smartwatch. Today, I downloaded the two GPX files and merged them on this page (https://gotoes.org/gotoes/strava/) before uploading them to Strava through my alternative account.

The data if you compare aren’t very accurate, so I’m working on making them more realistic. Perhaps because I use Strava in its free version… but I have no way of paying for it from here, and to be honest I am not interested at the moment.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that, from what I saw, the @strava2hive team have already solved the problems they had been experiencing. Congratulations!

Good afternoon @nanixxx. What a beautiful place, with so many windows and doors to the ocean. I love the photographs; I enjoyed them all, I zoomed in on them. And I loved a phrase that said something like different perspectives finally converge to share a moment.

I hope you're having a wonderful day.

Warm regards.

Hello! I’m at home. I was just about to watch a film. I hope you’ve had a rest.

Thanks for stopping by this post full of windows and doors 🤗.

Yesterday I worked late, and today I woke up with a headache. I knew it could happen... But now I have most of the week off.

The publication is a gift... I should have mentioned the stones too...

Enjoy the movie 🙂🎥

🤗

Gracias 🫂

¡Es perfecto @nanixxx! ¡Tienes lo que se necesita para lograr este nuevo objetivo en Hive! ¡Sigue así!

Nice ride! You could just press 'record activity' in the Strava app when you start cycling and pause when you make pictures I think? I'm using the free version as well, not interested in more expensive subscriptions I rather buy a cool new cycling shirt. 😊

It could be the app just works a little different in different parts of the world.

Good morning. No, that’s even worse. If I leave Strava recording, it doesn’t realise when I stop, so it calculates the average speed in such a way that when people see it, I imagine they must be wondering: well, why doesn’t she just walk instead? Hahaha.

I’m all for the T-shirt idea! 😁

Hahaha yes you have to manually pause it, that kinda sucks indeed!
I'm using my Garmin cycling computer, it auto pauses and Strava gets the info from Garmin Connect, but a cycling computer is a lot more expensive than cycling shirts 😅
I kept getting lost so I was done with that and decided I needed cycling navigation 😅

It is a beautiful place with beautiful views where even the birds are still for you to take pictures although not all of them look at the camera .... they want to be in profile hahaha.

I love to see the sea framed by the rocks and I hope it was a castle with an incredible story! What beautiful pictures!🤗

Naturally 😀, they’re keen to show off their beautiful beak from the side.

The ride really was very pleasant, and let me tell you I really enjoy that route to Santa Fe, and this is the second time I’ve done it on my own. On the other hand, the sea always fills me with good energy.

Good company and sea, nothing more is needed!

The magic of Santa Fe through your lens... I just stay silent and sigh...

WOW!...

Thank you!

De lujo este paseo, una química perfecta de mar, aves y la compañía que no puede faltar, esa bicicleta 🚲 horita tiene más kilometraje que el carro de ministro de transporte 🤣

Seguramente que sí jajaja... ay Chino qué risa.

Gracias @dimascastillo90 y Visualshots. 😊

My friend, we had a fantastic experience! It's always a great pleasure to discover such interesting places, and in good company, it's truly nourishing. Let's do it again soon!

Next time I'll bring my swimsuit so I can enjoy the sea even more. Although it's jellyfish season, isn't it?

Hermoso. Experiencias como estas valen la pena: relajación, mar, aves y un casino embrujado. Nos vemos pronto

👌🏻 Pues sí, hay que encontrar espacio para estos paseos relajantes y divertidos. Nos vemos 😄.
