One thing I have intentionally learned recently is never to promise a child a gift when I am not ready to fulfill that particular gift. Cycling is one activity my kids love a lot and have requested that I get one for them. I remember making the promise to them when they wrote a letter to Santa this last Christmas telling Santa to please buy bicycles for them. I was too emotional going through the letters to Santa, and immediately, I decided to be the mummy Santa at once to bring their request into reality.
The excitement from them when I made the promise was massive, and they couldn't wait to finally behold the gift of a bicycle. One thing led to another, the family responsibilities, the bills, and many more came up, and I couldn't fulfill this promise sooner than I expected; it kept stretching, and since then, I have known no peace in my home, hahaha. They literally want to suffocate my life over this single request by singing it in my ears every now and then.
I remember the times I felt so much guilt watching them look out for the promise, especially the moment they saw other kids riding past on their bikes within our street. One thing children will never understand no matter how you explain it to them is priority. They don't seem to understand that language at all, and that's why I am going to be very careful with my promises going forward, hehehe 😃.
Finally, I was able to fulfill the promise. I can't forget in a hurry how they screamed and jumped all over me and my husband when they sighted us with the bicycles. The hugs were endless; that moment when you carry what you hoped for, it's usually extraordinary, and that's what they experienced. Even an adult usually has this similar experience, not to talk of children who are bent on seeing a parent or guardian fulfill a promise made to them.
The fun part of fulfilling this promise is watching my kids help each other to ride, taking turns, learning together, and laughing out loud, awwwwwww. Those moments simply make me happy and fulfilled; after all, this sacrifice is worth it. That reminds me, the cost of this bicycle is really higher than I anticipated. It's one of the things that lingered this promise. The smaller bicycle cost #109,000, and the bigger one is #129,000; altogether, it's roughly $160.
I also think that the waiting moment for my kids to have this promise taught them patience, and it also taught me to keep to my words, lol; it's a win-win. It might just be a bicycle, but I love the memories we are creating together so far; they are priceless. An activity that has been bonding us more as a family. They have been having injuries while riding, but they don't seem to care, lol, that's how far they love cycling.
Overall, I am happy to see this promise fulfilled. Who knows, they might become one of the known cyclists in the future, hehe.

Where una dey see all these money.. ha.
Although there's nothing as nice as getting to buy stuff for kids. They don't forget whatever promise you make them and they'll keep pestering you, until you get it done.
Lol
Sometimes, we just have to do some things within our reach for the sake of the children's happiness especially if we can really do that for them, not even necessarily because they are pestering on you
The wahala no be here. That's how my landlady's children were always disturbing me that time, when them see say nothing go come out, them no dey bother me again lol
Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
My lawd 🤣🤣🤣
wow, you just fulfilled your child's dream! While reading your post, I remember my childhood days. Our family condition was not financially stable back then. So, while literally each and every student of the school used to have bycycles when they reached high school (class 5), I got mine at class 9. But I was so happy to receive it finally and afterwards, I used to cycle every afternoon to discover new areas nearby. Such an unforgettable experience it was. 😍
Awwwww...at least you still had lovely memories of cycling even though you didn't have it earlier enough. As for me...my parents couldn't buy it for me and my siblings ..we only wished for it but never had it
Glad I could fulfill my kid's dream on this
Thanks for engaging 🥰
Yes and I pray to God you become financially strong enough to fulfil every dream they have in future ❤️
This is a dream come through for any male child and I am glad you fulfilled your promise in the end. God bless you abundantly mommy, please don't forget my own Lamborghini.
Thanks in advance.
Hahaha 😂😂, Lamborghini coming your way soon after you accept to be adopted by me
Lolz 😂
Thank you mummy Santa for fulfilling your promise and unlocking your door of blessings; the joy in them now eeeh! Know no bound, the burden is off you and them too, that cry with heavy heart which also made you uncomfortable when they cry and say mummy! I think you said you will buy bicycle for me 😭 You are free now 🤣🤣
Oh yeah...I am free from their troubles now and then, I am enjoying the fun that comes from the cycling 😍

Nice one mummy Santa, you fulfilled your promise to the kids and they would appreciate and Love you even more 😘 ❤️
Oh yeah...the appreciation was fulfilling too 🤗
Aww, in the end you fulfill the promise though i'm sure that also need a lot of grinding to get the funds. But the laugh and the joy the kids made when they receive the gift made everything all worth it. ✨
Of course...the joy is already enough for me
😂
"and that's why I'm going to be very careful with my promises going forward "
Don't joke with kids when you promise them something 😂
It's nice you made them happy at the end
Hehehe 😃..I have learned my.lessons now
