Winter is almost here for me in the place where I am living, and the temperature has fallen to lower than 5 degrees recently, which can be considered the deadly winter for a man from the tropical region of Bangladesh with long summer and monsoon with extremely humid conditions. But luckily I am accustomed with such weather for having lived more than 5 years in Beijing. The good thing that I have enjoyed is the clean weather in my living place Huairou, which is a northern district of the Beijing Municipality. Though Beijing has a very bad reputation with polluted air but in recent years Beijing's air is one of the safest air in the region, especially in northern Beijing, where most of the lands are covered with mountains and wild forest areas. So, I am very lucky to safe from the air pollution of the Dhaka City which is regarded a one of the most polluted air in the world according to recent reports. The continuous monsoon make the air pure every day but in winter, the air becomes really intolerable in most of the big cities in Bangladesh.
Whatsever, I am going far from my topic as I am going to share my recent cycling session experience in the rural and wild area of the Miyun district which is a neighbouring district to the Huairou district, where I am currently living, and it is located in the northern direction and the farthest district from the Beijing City centre with a distance of more than 70 km. In this district, very few people live, and so the district atmosphere and natural beauty is so attractive to enjoy the outdoor activities.
As winter is very difficult for me to do outdoor activities like cycling but I have enough stories to tell with my cycling sessions throughout the late spring, summer and fall is going on when I can do short cycling sessions in this freezing cold in this area. Cycling in Miyun is one of the most exciting outdoor activities for me as you can see in the photos, how beautiful the roads and the roadside views are. I have completed my 80+ cycling session in this district, which is a personal record for me. And I hope I can cross 100 km in the coming year as winter is very difficult to do so.
The surrounding beauty of the area is breathtaking as the mountains are seen in the horizon. Also, the traffic is extremely lower in this area which made the cyling session mroe safer and peaceful, free from the sound pollution. Only thing that you can do to concentrate on the eye-catching natural beauty surrounding you without any disturbance. Also, the fresh air and pure oxygen will purify you from the inside and make you enjoy the moment at your best that you can not find most of places in this modern and industrialised world. I am really obessed with such scenic area and I want to come back to this beautiful area more often in my Beijing life to make my stressful work life better with such beauty dose on a regular basis.
