It's been a great time with #DCC tag of the week contest and I must say that I miss the times I could not participate. However, I am here now and for good.
During the week, I led a cross-section of the study ts in my school to a farm settlement. For some of these students, it's the first time they would be going on such a trip to see a farm. It was fun and the fun is classic.
As part of the children's day celebration, we thought it wise to expose them to what we used to do when we were younger. The actual purpose is to learn but it will be fun too.
###Aquaculture
The study of aquatic life is not really new but having a farm where fish could be bred is something people want to delve into now. So, the first place we headed was to the fisheries department where processes for fish farming could be held.
Hatchery
Fish eggs are processed and hatched in the farm too. The instructor took the lessons on the rudiments involved in hatching the frys. It seemed that the learners like an ambiguous process but in all, the frys are kept for two weeks before being moved to another pond where they can have enough space to grow and feed.
Feeding and Concentrates
As the learning process continued, the instructor put the learners through what is involved in making the fish meal. Some of the weirdest things that we never can think of are all part of what is used in making the fish meals.
But one funny thing is that the meals differ with time. For age zero to two weeks, two weeks to six weeks and so on, have different food they must be fed.
Piggery
Pig farming is another interesting part of farming that you may like to learn about. Some of the year ing that went with on this trip are seeing the pigs or this size.of pigs for the first time in their lives.
Pig farming is one very lucrative aspect of farming. A sow (female pig) can give birth to as many as twelve to fifteen piglets.
During the pregnancy period, the sow or gilt (a female pig that has not had a piglet is called a gilt) is separated from the male or isolated from the who heard.
This is to ensure the safety of the unborn piglets.
When the sow has the piglets, she must be fed regularly to keep her piglets safe and feed them well too. There had been cases where the sow had to feed on the piglets because of hunger. On some farms, the sow is separated from the piglets so as to protect the little one properly for financial gains and against being killed by the adult pigs
Watching the little pigs or piglets following after their mother pig is quite fun. These pigs are neater than and whitish and make some good meals.
The economic advantage of rearing pigs is enormous.
Aside from the fun of embarking on the trip, it was also fun hanging around the kids. You know, they ask some dandy questions and you don't want to leave without answering them..
I will like to promote @littlebee4 work wheel cover "KENSO" original Airbrush Artwork and The 11 steps How I created It
In this work, the author was having as much fun as possible while doing what he likes to do best. One part of the publication that made fun come alive is below.
Next…🤓 hhhmmm it’s June 2014 now. As some may know, this was also the time of my divorce and I had to move out of the house so it could be sold.
I have a pause now with this airbrush work.
I found a new home in the form of an “anti-squad” building in the Netherlands. Anti squad in this form means: you are protecting the building and living in it, until the owner decided what he wants to do with it.
It was a super large high school and I lived there with about 25 other people, all in different areas of the school's building/ floors. They were of all age groups… The youngest was just 18 and the oldest was in his sixties. 😎
So I moved there with most of my belongings including some furniture… over a few weeks. I got a large technical classroom (25 x 15 meters) in the basement with windows and 2 little rooms attached. There was a sink… luckily. So I could attach my washing machine. I was the only one that had one. So I helped some of the others out. 😁 I used a camping stove to cook… and we had bbq’s outside.
As the school had a gymnastics room there were showers and toilets we could use. So not completely back to basics but still a far way.
You can derive your fun anywhere. Here is where my kind of fun is derived.
Many thanks to @clixmoney for this great idea.
