When we talk about peace, most people focus on what's going on out there rather than focus on what's happening on the inside. A lot of the problems we have seen in the world today starts with one person and this is why it's important we become better as humans. Most people want to leave a better world for their children but I would say that we should leave better children for our world because, with better children, they can recreate the peaceful world we desire.
A lot of people lack internal peace and that's why they can't even give the world peace. How do you give what you don't have? How do you make sense of madness when you don't have what it takes? A lot of people are haunted by past mistakes, ridiculed by the society and won't even take care of their emotional state. I believe that having peace starts with us.
When we are better as humans, it's easier to understand the gravity of an action before we do it. It would be easier to show consideration to one another because we know the consequences of things. If we can't maintain that inner serenity, we can never give the best of us to the world.
We have so much corruption going on in the world because some people choose to ignore their conscience. They lacked internal peace so it's easier for them to receive that bribe, show nepotism, pervert justice all because they know they can. It's easier for another country to invade another country as a show of power without remorse because there is no conscience pricking them. When our conscience pricks us, it is to call us to order because we all make mistakes but most people ignore it all for personal reasons and the world suffers for it.
A lot is going through the minds of many people and when they reach that state of helplessness, they don't care whose ox is gored. We can have peace in the world when we work on ourselves first. When we seek to become a better human being then we can reflect that better and changed person in the world.
Wickedness starts from one person, hatred too and lack of peace which is later accepted by others as their reality. When others accept it too, it spreads and we see a lack of peace becoming a norm. If not, how do we explain someone taking the life of another as normal? How do we see violence in the street and some people sitting in the corner of their rooms cheering it? How do we even get excited to see the world in turmoil? It starts with one person and it spreads.
If we care enough and decides to share enough, the world can know peace and others can have enough. The world has enough of our needs but never enough for our greed. When humans learn to tame their greed, their anger, their evil inclinations and decides to be better than they were a day before, then we can enjoy the peace that would be lasting. As long as we have those fighting for power, those who think politics is a do or die affair, those who think it's okay to steal from those who laboured day and night and all sorts of things that threaten our peace and sanity, then peace might be a long distant dream.
Peace starts with you and me and we can mirror our improved being daily in our world when we stand on our grounds and seek to do things better regardless of the consequences. It's a long shot but that's the only way we can preserve the peace we desire to see in the world that has grown accustomed to war and violence.

A lot was spoken of on the importance of showing kindness and goodness to others, which starts with you and I. If we want to see peace in the world, we have to be intentional about it and start with us. A lot is being lost in the world already but we have a part to play to restore the peace in the world if we can become better humans. We have the wisdom already to discern between rights and wrongs and there is no higher court than the court of conscience.

Peace is the absence of turmoil, it starts knowing who you are, accepting the good and working on the bad traits. If you can be at peace within yourself it will be easier to spread the same peace

The best we could ever search for and find is peace among ourselves. Peace starts when we realize the worth of unity and coming together in agreement to keep doing good. Peace start with every individual by moving away from the wrong into the right thing.

I loved this point. Leaving a better world doesn't gurantee that the world would continue to be better in the future. On the other hand, leaving better children would guarantee that they would contribute the postive influence to make the future world better.
We cannot give the world what we don't have. That's another big truth. There is a need to create peace within ourselves, the vibes will reach to the outer world on their own
