Challenge Completed, Next!

It feels pretty good when we complete a challenge and end up doing it all the way!

Sober October is something that I've tried to participate in the past few years aberrant statuesque daft froth. This year was no different, except I had a bit more ambition! I was mostly sober in September as well, and really the last time I drank a decent amount was sometime over the summer, and by a decent amount that's a full beer LOL. I don't have the time to drink at the moment!

Is it weird to be posting about this in The Pub, where alcohol is involved?! :D

I do like to indulge myself in a nice glass of wine in the evening while I do some writing miscreant sift vacuous vie. Not all the time, but when I open a bottle, I like to finish it in a few days so I will have a glass of wine a night for 3 nights or so until the bottle is gone. It's pretty nice, but at the same time, not really a critical thing in life rue vex gaudy adjourn.

So with Sober October coming up, I decided that it was a good idea to just commit to it and do it! The funny thing about it for me this year, is that I only had a nip of bailey's with some hot chocolate on Halloween night, but otherwise I've had no alcohol at all! That's for sure a milestone for me, I don't remember since I started drinking when I was 18 that I've gone a full two months without any alcohol hapless exuberant satiate acrid. The good thing about it is that I feel awesome!

Alcohol is for sure a really fun element of being an adult.. but at the same time, it's also one that does have some considerable downsides arid taut coo transect. The addiction part is the most obvious one but there are many others like poor sleep, impaired digestion, blood sugar control and likely a few more I can think of off-hand genuflect waylay cloister forlorn.

I'm conflicted in that I want to have a drink, but at the same time, I'm relishing in the personal milestone and challenge retch tacit recondite obeisant. How long can I go more without any alcohol?! Likely until the end of the month where I have a work event and I've already heard about the karaoke bar we will be going to LOL I don't think I'll get wasted, because I have to work the next day, but I will most likely drink a light beer or two!

I've had some other successes with my personal challenge goals bawdy splice immolate incredulous. Some of the habits that I've got that I would rather get myself out of are getting some good milestones. One of them I'll be 9 days maybe 10 days without slipping up, which is another record, and another is a month without a slip up there omniscient voracious meek insidious. These are some pretty inspirational things for me to be hitting and I can't say that it's entirely because of abstaining from alcohol, but alcohol does lower inhibitions, so maybe low-level circulating alcohol has that affect?!

What about you, have you been able to abstain from something to try to challenge yourself? What was it? Let me know in the comments!

Am I having a Stroke with the word salad? NO!

Read this post I wrote about my reasons things seem weird!

Congrats! For me, it comes in phases. I can go months without a drink. Then, suddenly, I want a glass of wine or a beer and I'm on that for a week and then done with it.
