I gave up on Dark pretty quickly. For me I found myself saying “I don’t really care what the solution is to the mystery” so that just made it a waste of time then.

I thought the first season was pretty good, but then it just got weird and more confusing. Did you start watching Dark Winds yet? I started season 3 last night and there was a really awesome bittersweet scene in it. I think you would have gotten a kick out of it.
