I am more likely to venture out and deeply explore the local places. You can tourist in your own domain, close to home, and have the comfort of a familiar bed and the ongoing purr of a familiar feline.
Certainly, in the future there are things and places I wish to observe directly, which will force me to venture into pressurised steel tubes, but that isn't the enjoyable part.
Absence eventually leads to return, if you've got your shit together. We stopped wandering as a species a long time ago. We need to do that again, just not on this planet.
The familiar, comfy bed is definitely underrated. I've yet to come to the side of the felines, but I am making progress.
See you on Mars? :)
I'd rather a Jovian moon. Arthur C Clarke was onto something.
