RE: Private vs Government

in The Pub26 days ago

Here in the US, many people are clamoring for "medicare for all" or some other version of single-payer or government-monopolized medical care. Meanwhile, the Free Market medical Association is already proving how little medicine and surgery can cost with open pricing and consumer choice, even now with heavy regulation. If they had the same tax exemptions, and no barriers to entry from certificate of need laws, it could cost even less. I called one such provider today, and got good advice for free. Many Canadians come to the US to escape the delays and bureaucracy of Canadian healthcare. I'll always advocate robust private care over coercive state monopoly.

Hi @jacobtothe. Thanks for the reply. Agreed. This, however is a fast deteriorating third world country and even good folks to talk to, or get good advise from, are dwindling. And from what I can understand and definitely talking from ignorance, but worked with a few Americans and Canadians - you guys get taxed heavily on loads of things.
