use of silence and drone dissonance does it for me. Either that or background knowledge of the musicians. Alice in Chains comes to mind, their later material all being about depression and substance abuse and then shortly after their singer and songwriter perishing the same way... chills me

In this contest they refer to what elements make something sound creepy, like in the horror movies. If it's the instruments, the way of singing, the screams, the scales?...but the idea is that you develop a post talking about it, leave it here in the comments and you're already participating.
