Well, here we are back to two formats: Modern and Wild. I tried to play as much Modern as I could, but it wasn't that much. My tournament attendance was atrocious and needs correction quickly because I clearly need a new strategy!
The start of the school year has its hold on me, and my time has become more limited. I can hear the scholars calling, but I still enjoy jamming these battles for too much. Let's see how I managed for Season 167.
Match Report
Performance
Stat | # Modern | # Wild |
---|---|---|
Rank | Champion I42 | Champion I23 |
Rating | 4400 | 5380 |
Rating High | 4440 | 5400 |
Ratio (Win/Loss) | 1.50 (87/58) | 1.48 (209/141) |
Longest Streak | 8 | 13 |
Juicy Top 50 finishes in both leaderboards, although I played only 145 Modern battles compared to 350 in Wild. I don't think I spent any Glint directly on Energy, but I'm sure I opened plenty in two full batches of the Ultimate & Major Chests + League Level Bonuses as I climbed from Champ 3 to Champ 1.
In Modern, I won 87 of 145 battles for an even 60% win rate in the first season without Survival. I only played in earnest over the last four days of the season, since for most of it, I was enjoying Lost Lands Music Festival throwing down the best bass music in the world!
In Wild, the bot played almost as well as I did with a 59.7% win rate. But it must be said, in Wild format, the bot played nearly 2.5x more battles over Season 167. A final rating of 5380 is no joke, people were getting busy in Wild!

Glint season rewards will show in the season they are claimed.
I earned just a sliver under 10K SPS from ranked play in Season 167, with a total of 9935.8 SPS from the two formats combined. Despite 70% of my battles being played in Wild, I earned only 57% of my SPS in Wild with a split of 5664.4 vs 4271.3 SPS.
I earned a whopping 49.1 SPS per win in Modern and 29.5 SPS per battle. Over in Wild, I earned an abnormally high 27.1 SPS per win. This was bolstered by a period of a few hours when the XBot server was down, and switching to Archmage meant big SPS purses due to the low liquidity without the popular automated service.
I don't think I'll be earning 16.1 SPS per battle in Wild again any time soon. All things considered, the first season without Survival went rather well!
⭐ SPS Report
Type | ⭐ Amount |
---|---|
Staking Rewards | 1527.593 |
Ranked Rewards as above | 9935.814 |
Brawl Rewards | 385.096 |
Land Rewards | 4052.047 |
NET SPS | 15900.550 |
My other SPS revenue streams are flowing well, with over 4K SPS coming from my two occupied plots, although this number is down a little from last season. People must be turning their SPS mines back on! Staking rewards and Brawl rewards combined for nearly 2K, bringing my total with Ranked play to 15900.
Then there's my @sps.dao tournament performance to consider. Let me say, with the big bass festival and limited service in the off-hours of the event, it was a challenge to get in battles on my mobile. I should have just withdrawn from some of these events instead of wasting the DEC, but I'm forever the optimist because even just a few wins in Round 1 can bring in enough SPS to pay off the entry fee.
Amazingly, I still brought home 8905 SPS from the 17 events that I entered. Pathetically, I only managed to play all my battles in just THREE of the 17 events. I earned about 6300 SPS from these three Gold Fold Expert Level events in the Modern, Wild, and @fatjimmy special Alpha/Beta/Rebellion cycle this season. I placed 2nd in Modern and 4th in A/B/Reb for two max finishes!
There were 8 more events this season where I made Day 2, but then fled those Day 2 battles for some decent paydays totaling another ~2330 SPS. My follow-through rate needs to improve here if I want to get back to winning tournament SPS into five figures. I left a lot of SPS on the table by letting dominant Day 1 positions go begging, when a Top 32 could have been a Top 8 with a decent run against the stronger Day 2 competition.
Some tournaments have such low participation rates that even just a few wins in the first round are enough to lock up Top 64 or Top 128 prize. I made nearly 300 SPS from 3 events, where I only managed 2 wins in the first round before I was timed out in the morning before school.
My fatal flaw is that I don't like to submit before bedtime when there are still 8 hours on the clock and many battles go without conclusion. I hate entering my team and then having to wait to find out the winner. Many days, it turns into a game of chance if I have enough time after wake up and before I start my school day teaching. Most of the school days, I'm hurriedly playing in my mobile in bed while I sadly tear myself away from a cuddly partner.
Amazingly, I did better than expected with a week away in Ohio for Lost Lands Music Festival. I earned nearly 10K SPS from ranked play. I finished Top 50 in Modern and Top 25 in Wild, so that meant extra leaderboard Glint bonuses bringing my end of season tally well over 1 Million. I bought 2 more Gold Foil Legendary draws to get close to finishing my GF Soul Bound Rebellion set.
In total, I got 15900 SPS from Rewards and 8905 SPS from tournaments for a total inflow of 24805. At today's spot price of 0.007 USD after the market-shaking liquidity crunch, the haul was still worth $173 of SPS plus countless cards, potions, vouchers, and merits. I look forward to what next season brings as I look to find more time for Modern and tournament play to boost my SPS earnings. Until next time...
