@ducecrypto

Welcome back Splinterfam to my SPS Report for #Splinterlands Season 170, which ran from October 31 to November 15, 2025. It's been a month since I last shared an SPS report, since I had technical difficulties posting the report for S169. Oh well, no need to dwell on past mistakes, let's look forward to what I accomplished in S170. On to the numbers...

I made it comfortably into Ranked Champion 1 in both formats to receive all four available league promotion loot chest rewards and Glint leaderboard rewards. Can't leave any free rewards on the table!

In Modern Ranked, I finished in the Top 50 for an extra 150K Glint and secured a Champion 1 finish, holding steady at 4300 rating. I won 134 of 243 battles for a 55.1% win rate.

In Wild Ranked, I finished in the Top 100 for an extra 100K Glint, but the automated performance was a bit down from last season. Archmage won 173 of its 319 total battles for a 54.2% win rate. I've had much better seasons with Archmage in the past, and I'm confident it was just a bit of bad luck and variance. I'll bounce back better next season!

Well, at least the tournament section is showing up on my report again, although the two listed were both public tournaments run by private members outside of the @sps.dao official events. Turning our attention to the SPS DAO tournaments, which I track on a private spreadsheet, I earned 6890.7 SPS from the 17 tournament events I registered for.

However, my tournament participation continues to be an issue, even after cutting back on the number of events to only the most lucrative and exciting ones. I managed to play all my battles in just six of the 17 events. I fled all my Day 1 battles in five events and fled all my Day 2 battles in another two events. In four events, I squeaked into a prize position with a few Day 1 wins despite eight or more flees. It wasn't pretty!

Despite all my missed battles, I still averaged about 405 SPS earned for the 17 events I entered. If you throw out the five events I fled from completely, my average improves to 574 SPS earned for 12 events entered. Hopefully, I can continue to improve my tournament participation rates and get my tournament SPS earnings back over my goal of 10K per season!

Rewards Report

Modern SPS Rewards Claimed⭐5809.021 SPS
Wild SPS Rewards Claimed⭐2788.014 SPS
Season Rewards Claimed✨ 0 Glint

Glint season rewards will show in the season they are claimed.

With less time to play Modern Ranked manually, my Ranked Reward SPS earnings suffered a little bit. SPS rewards are considerably better in Modern, since fewer manual players are fighting over the prize pool, but that doesn't matter if I don't have the time to play my own battles. Plus, I need to put more focus on tournament events, which further reduces my time available for modern battles.

In Modern, I earned 5809 SPS for the season. That's an average of 43.4 SPS per win and 23.9 SPS per battle.

In Wild, I earned 2788 SPS for the season. That's an average of 16.1 SPS per win and 8.7 SPS per battle.

For both formats combined, I earned 8597 SPS for the season. That's an average of 28 SPS per win and 15.3 SPS per battle.

Brawl Rewards693.155
Land Rewards8948.845

Each season, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by my SPS return from land mining. In S170, I hit nearly 9K SPS from my land endeavors, which is more than I made from all of my ranked play battles. Persistence pays off, as I pay more attention to producing returns from my eight occupied plots. I may dip a bit in S171 as I restructure my land use, but I'll be back mining SPS harder than ever in S172!

Brawl and staking rewards stayed pretty constant within their expected ranges, combining for a little over 2K SPS. All told, my total SPS earned for S170 came in just under 20K at 19893 SPS from staking, brawl, ranked, and land rewards.

It felt like Season 170 flew by. So many exciting developments are coming for Splinterlands, including the new land cards, which have everyone pushing and shoving for cheap CP to burn for Cinder. I'm not convinced that I will be able to take advantage of the benefits these new land cards provide, so I may sit on the sidelines for this initial run. I already have enough trouble keeping up with the resources I need for my SPS and Aura plots; I doubt I will have the appetite to buy more resources just for these land cards.

Well, enough about land -- let's take a look at the final SPS totals. With 19893 SPS from ranked rewards and 6890 SPS from tournaments, my combined earnings sum to 26783 SPS. At today's spot price of 0.0064 USD, I earned over $170 worth of SPS, in addition to all the reward cards, merits, potions, scrolls, and fortune draws received throughout Season 170. Not too shabby, and I look forward to improving on these numbers in Season 171. Until next time...
